even though I have a sick leave for a mask niche, the museum staff told me that I couldn't enter the museum without a mask. the museum staff violated my personal rights. abused power like the German Gestapo.

The palace in Śmiełów was built in 1797 for the rich family of Gorzeński landowners. The palace consists of a classicist villa connected with outbuildings by semicircular galleries. The main body is preceded by a four-column portico with columns. In Śmiełów, Adam Mickiewicz was a guest of the Gorzeński family for several weeks in August 1831. After the Gorzeński family expired in 1887, the property and the palace were bought by the Chełkowski family, who organize a collection of memorabilia related to Mickiewicz and his stay in Śmiełów in the palace. Śmiełów is visited by, among others, Henryk Sienkiewicz, Ignacy Paderewski, Wojciech Kossak, Ludwik Puget, Ludomir Różycki and Władysław Tatarkiewicz. In 1970, the palace was taken over by the National Museum in Poznań, which renovated the palace and opened the Museum here in 1975.
