Situated on a hill overlooking the village of Hrebenne, the wooden Greek Catholic church is one of the most interesting monuments of the Eastern Roztocze. It is particularly noteworthy that today the temple serves the faithful of both the Greek and Roman rites. The church was built in the years 1697-1700 and rebuilt in 1882. The parish had affiliate churches in Mosty Małe and Siedliska. The parish belonged to the Potelice deanery, and after World War I to Rawa deanery. The church has a log structure, it is tripartite, all three parts are three-story, built on square plans, covered with octagonal domes with lanterns. The individual storeys are separated by wide eaves. The former shingle cover was changed to a tin one in the 20th century. During the renovation in 2010, the former appearance of the temple was restored, including the shingle roof. Inside, a polychrome from the 17th and 18th centuries has been preserved, especially interesting on the rood wall (separating the nave from the presbytery), where there are images of Christ Pantocrator, the twelve apostles and Our Lady of Orant. The icons of Christ the Teacher and Our Lady of Hodegetria from the old iconostasis are located in the side altars. In 2001, a full iconostasis from the 17th-18th centuries with icons painted on boards was installed in the church. Next to the church there is a wooden, two-story belfry from the 17th century. Until 1941 there were three bells on it, which were commandeered by the Germans. In the 1960s, a bell "St. Mikola ", and on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus in 1988, a second bell" St. Vladimir the Great ”. After the war, the church was taken over by the Roman Catholic Church. In the years 1965-1984, however, masses were celebrated irregularly in the Greek rite, and after 1984 regularly. Currently, it is the seat of the Greek Catholic parish of the Przemyśl deanery. Jan Bożyk made great contributions to saving the church from destruction after 1947, who made many efforts to preserve it for the next generations of believers. In 1988, the parish celebrated the 1000th anniversary of the Baptism of Russia and Ukraine. From the hill on which the church is located, behind the trees just above the building, there is a wonderful view of the Polish-Ukrainian border crossing Hrebenne / Rawa Ruska.

Be sure to see the wooden churches of the mite on the trail. Be sure to look for the Lord who takes care of the church administratively. She will be happy to tell you about its history and show you what to see.
