Kościół Pijarów pw. Matki Bożej Łaskawej i św. Wojciecha

The church is three-nave in the form of a basilica, the chancel faces south. The chancel frescoes depict scenes from the life of St. Adalbert. Inside there are numerous late-baroque altars, the altars in the main nave of Our Lady of Graces and St. Calasancius with statues of Plersch and a miraculous painting in The altar of Our Lady of the Scapular in the eastern nave. In the right nave there was a painting of the Madonna of Pelican. The Piarist Church is an example of a beautiful Baroque inspired by native culture. The Piarists ran a college next to the church. From 1680 there was a printing house and a library. There was also a theater and a music choir. Provincial chapters were held. In one of them, in 1753, thanks to the efforts of priest Stanisław Konarski, an education reform was passed, giving rise to the National Education Commission. The drinkers were removed from Łowicz under post-uprising restrictions, and they took over the church again in 1957.

It was built in the baroque style in the years 1672-1680. The founders known by name included Jan Szamowski - the castellan of Gostyń and Wojciech Zimny ​​- a peasant from Bobrowniki. At the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries, it was expanded by the foundation of Archbishop Michał Radziejowski. The church was solemnly consecrated in July 1749. From the beginning, the Piarists were the hosts of the church. The church has frescoes attributed to the Italian painter Michelangelo Palloni. The interior of the church is three-nave with a presbytery closed with a semicircular apse. The chancel and the nave have barrel vaults with lunettes on double stripes. In the annexes at the presbytery, there are barrel-cross vaults, and in the aisles and under the choir: cross vaults on stripes and barrel vaults on the galleries. Particularly noteworthy is the side altar of the church with a sculpture of Our Lady of Grace and two sculptures of Solomon and Moses (it is believed that their author is Jan Jerzy Plersch). Provincial Chapters were held at the Lowicz Piarist College. On one of them in 1753, thanks to the efforts of Fr. Stanisław Konarski, a reform of the education system was enacted, first in the Piarist system - approved by Pope Benedict XIV, and then it gave an impulse for the establishment of the National Education Commission, which took place at the Four-Year Sejm. Currently, the Pijarzy Fathers, who after a long break, lasting from 1864 to 1958, returned to Łowicz and conduct pastoral activities (rector church) and educational activities (primary school, middle school and high school). the church is currently being restored.
