Very nice little church. The affiliate church in Read belongs to the parish dedicated to Saint. James the Apostle in Skorogoszczy in the Niemodlin deanery. The church in the Gothic style, dates from the late Middle Ages, from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. It is located in the central part of the village and is a decoration of today's Read. Entered in the register of monuments, and the church tower is under conservation protection. At the beginning of the 20th century, the tower was restored. In 1961, during inventory works related to monuments of art in the Opole region, in the attic of the presbytery of the Catholic parish in Skorogoszcza, the center of an interesting triptych "Four Virgins", most likely from the chapel in Read. Father P. Ozimek brought him here while performing his pastoral ministry at the Skorogoszcz parish. In the chapel in Read, he placed the existing equipment from the chapel of the pre-war Missionary House of missionaries from Mariannhill in Skorogoszczy. As it turned out, it is the oldest altar of this type in the Opole region. Presents St. Virgin (Saint Barbara, Saint Catherine, Saint Agnes) and Mother of God with the Child in the middle. Three of the preserved statues (the fourth one was missing at that time) present a simplified style of the so-called madonna on lion from the end of the 14th century However, the whole altar with the statue of the Virgin Mary with the Child comes from around 1400. The whole triptych is 1 m high, 0.5 m wide. Father Bogusiak, the priest, handed over the triptych to Opole in 1964 for renewal. Missing reliefs of St. Dorothy.
