An interesting story. Meeting with the "hermit". A beautiful church and cemetery showing incl. the history of these areas.

A unique and little-known place on the map of Poland. The only wooden church in Poland St. Brykcjusza built in the 17th century, hermitage (19th century) and a wonderful spring - according to legend, washing your eyes with water from the spring allows you to see the truth. The place is very charming, hidden from the hustle and bustle of civilization among the trees. The hermitage has been empty for a long time and has been recently looked after by a nun.

A beautiful wooden pilgrim church of Saint. Brykcjusza in Bryksach is located in the Opole region, between the villages of Gościęcin and Kózki, south-east of Głogówek and west of Kędzierzyn Koźle. The church is visited by pilgrims, mainly due to the "miraculous spring" with which the legend is associated. According to her, the source grew at a time when thirsty Saint. Brykcjusz rested here during the missionary expedition. The first mention of the existence of the source and the chapel of St. Brykcjusz near Gościęcina dates back to 1594. When the number of pilgrimages grew, it turned out that the small chapel was too small, therefore in 1651-61 a wooden church was erected Saint. Bryksjusz functioning today. The church in Bryksach is erected on a cruciform plan with three-sided closed arms, oriented, carcass construction, on the foundation. The church's furnishings include the main altar with the image of the Virgin Mary and the Infant Jesus and two side altars, one of which contains the sculptures of St. Peter and Paul and the image of Saint. Brykcjusz from 1896, while in the second there are sculptures of Saint. Jadwiga and Barbara and the image of the Baptism in Jordan. The pulpit dates from the eighteenth century. Not far from the church and the source is also a former hermitage, today changed to a hostel and a neo-Romanesque chapel from 1880

This is an old wooden church, built in 1661 for pilgrims. Church of St. Bryksjusz the French bishop accused as the legend of fatherhood says. By. legends of the infant spoke for the Bishop. There are two separate chapels on the site, one with a wonderful source that rolls water to heal the eyes, and the other built in honor of those who died in the wars of the surrounding villages.
