Tadeusza Kościuszki is the main artery of the southern part of Wieluń. This street became more important in 1887, when the decision of the Prussian authorities, Wieleń became the seat of the poviat. By 1919, when this administrative unit was liquidated, new public facilities were erected in the city, including the building of the Town Court. Currently, it houses the Town Hall and Commune Office of Wieleń. The building of the Grodzki Court (German: Amstgericht) was erected in the late nineteenth century at the square closing the then Wilhelmstrasse. The two-story building received facades made of plastered clinker brick. Its central part is a three-axis projection with the courtroom windows on the first floor. The top of the break was decorated with a round clock. In the post-war period, the second floor and the roof were rebuilt.
