The obelisk was officially unveiled on Friday, November 10, 2017, in honor of the first settlers in non-Moravian land, who by slowly creating solidarity and community contributed to the reconstruction of Polishness in the regained lands. Under the peace treaties of the Potsdam Conference, the town was incorporated into Poland and its previous inhabitants were displaced to Germany. The village was originally called Horzewo [2], which was changed to the present one in 1947 [17]. In the years 1946–1998 the town was situated in the Szczecin Province.
