The former Orthodox church of Pounice st. Michael the Archangel in Cyców was built in the years 1860-1870 in the Byzantine style. In 1875 it was renamed the Orthodox Church, and in 1918 the Roman Catholic Church of St. Joseph. The temple is made of brick and covered with sheet metal. There is a heavy turret above the central nave, where in 1920 there was a Byzantine bath. The belfry - located on the church square - was built in 1871. A statue of the Virgin Mary from 1862 stands opposite the church.

The Orthodox church in Cyców already existed before 1473. In the 16th century it was called the Exaltation of the Cross of the Lord. This parish adopted the union with time. In 1875, the Uniate parish in Cyców was administratively attached to the Russian Orthodox Church. In 1889 the building was rebuilt. In 1921, by the decision of the bishop of Lublin, Marian Fulman, the old church became the seat of the Roman Catholic parish, after that date further reconstructions were made.
