The present church was erected thanks to the efforts of the parish priest, Fr. Wawrzyniec Walicki, in 1846 with the financial help of the Ołdakowski family and funds raised by the faithful. He consecrated it in 1850, on the order of the Bishop of Vilnius, Wacław Żyliński, the dean of Białystok, Fr. Bartłomiej Byliński, and consecrated by the bishop of Vilnius, Adam Stanisław Krasiński in 1860. The belfry, a classicist, three-story stone structure tapering towards the top, was erected in 1873.
