The Volunteer Fire Brigade in Mietkowa was founded in 1969.
On September 8, 1995, it was incorporated into the National Rescue and Firefighting System, while a year later it was equipped with a selective notification system. Due to its qualifications, it is a unit at the disposal of the State Fire Service to operate in the Mietków commune, as well as neighboring communes, i.e.Kąty Wrocławskie, Kostomłoty, Marcinowice, Sobótka, and Żarów. The unit works with the police, the District of Wroclaw, Mietków Municipality, Municipal Headquarters of the PSP, sołtysami, schools, local associations and churches in their area. Currently, the equipment of the unit consists of 3 vehicles donated by the State Fire Service in Wrocław.
