Between the Wólczańska and Kościuszko streets, the buildings constituting the front of the town were owned by the Hirszberg family. Around 1896 from the side of ul. Wólczańska, at number 36, at the request of Zofia Hirszberg, a one-story house was built. The building was rebuilt in 1926 according to the design of Jerzy Mutz. After the war, the police station was located in it. The building from the side of Al. Kościuszki, at number 19, was built in 1910. Originally, it was an industrial and commercial facility leased to various companies. In 1927, the daughters of Zofia Hirszberg leased the building of the Sickness Fund, which occupied it until the outbreak of the war. In 1949, he found the headquarters of the Population Records Department, and in the 1970s he was transferred to the police station of that time. The building is to become the seat of the Urban Urban Studio and Monument Conservator. The Lapidarium of the Architectural Detail will be created there, where you will be able to see stucco and decorations from old Łódź villas, tenement houses or factories.
