The first written mention of the church dates from 1260. Originally a smaller stone-wooden, Romanesque and one-nave structure. In the 15th century, the church was expanded in the Gothic style. He gained three naves and an ambit then. On the left from the main entrance there is a bricked up old portal - used until 1673. The interior has Baroque and Rococo décor. From 1314 to 1811, the church was looked after by the nuns of Magdalena (a monastery - currently the building of the primary school - located next to the temple). On the north wall is the tombstone of Bartłomiej from Wierzbno (died 1316), considered to be the oldest documented tombstone in Lower Silesia.
