The prince's castle in Szprotawa was probably built in the second half of the 13th century. The history of the castle ends in 1672, during the great fire of the city, the castle burns completely, and in its place is a brewery. As a result of strong Protestant influences in the lands of Lower Silesia, the land of the old castle is intended for the construction of an evangelical temple. In 1747 the building was completed. After the Second World War, the church systematically falls into ruin. It wasn't until 2000 that the location of the Szprotaw castle was archaeological.
