A beautiful place to pray.
Rzepin is a small town on the Lubusz Land located by the A2 motorway, about 20 km from the border town of Słubice. However, it has a rich history dating back to the 13th century, and in 1329 it is already mentioned in documents as a city.
The parish church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, originally dedicated to Saint. Katarzyna, is also an age-old monument, because it was erected at the beginning of the fourteenth century in the late Romanesque style. In the middle of the fifteenth century, a gothic chapel with an ogival portal was added to the north side. At the same time, from the west side, a wooden tower was erected, which was consumed by a fire in the 18th century. The reconstruction, during which the tower was added in the neo-Gothic style and the walls were raised, continued until 1885.
The present appearance of the temple owes this reconstruction. The most precious elements are the presbytery and the chapel. The equipment comes mainly from the 19th century.
A charming church situated on the lake in Łagów + the priest's sermons complete the beautiful view.
