A beautiful church built in 1904 in the Opole district of Nowa Wieś Królewska. The beautiful High Altar of the Mother of Perpetual Help and the Way of the Cross around this Icon. Beautiful side Altars.

A beautiful church with a 67 meter high tower, built of clinker brick entered in the Opole monuments register, it is worth visiting one of the oldest districts of Opole to see this church with its own eyes, next to the neo-Gothic buildings of the presbytery.

The main driving force behind the creation of the magnificent basilica were the daughters Maria and Franziska Schwierz. On March 10, 1898, they announced to the Kuratus Kubis in Opole that in the event of the construction of a parish church in Nowa Wieś Królewska, they were ready to fund 30,000 marks for this honorable cause. In order to fulfill their obligations, on December 27, 1898, they transferred the declared amount to the Opole parish priest, depositing it in the Municipal Savings Association. In order to speed up the construction of the parish church, the contract included the condition that if the church and the pastoral monastery were not completed by 1910, then the donors' money would be returned to the rightful owners. In the original plans, which did not suit the inhabitants of Nowa Wieś Królewska, there was a plan to build a new church on Friedrichsplatz (Daszyńskiego Square) in Opole, which would also include Nowa Wieś Królewska. However, nothing came of the planned project, because the owner of the square - city councilor Baydel, demanded too much for this property (15 marks per square meter). The occurrence of these circumstances favored the earlier plans of the parishioners. After that, thanks to the efforts of the clergyman Wrzodek, the works gathered pace. Architect Schneider was hired to prepare the relevant documents. In September 1989, the project was ready and on July 3, 1900, it was presented to Cardinal Wrocław. A positive opinion issued by the parish board on October 9, 1901, after the architect's cost estimate and design had been assessed, was the final signal for the cardinal who accepted the proposed design for implementation. The formal establishment of the Nowa Wieś Królewska parish took place on June 20, 1901, when Archbishop Cardinal Kopp signed the relevant documents, and on October 22, 1901, Father Oswald Sonnek from the Church of St. Jadwiga in Berlin. Until the construction was completed, a temporary church was created, which was located between the present-day rectory and the present church. The building was handed over on November 13, 1901. Archbishop Myśliwiec and the parish administrator Sonnek participated in this event. On this occasion, an assembly was organized at which the church board was elected and the new parish seal of the church was presented. All this was recorded in the minutes. The witnesses of the reception were: the first full-time mayor of the Smolarczyk commune, the chairman of the Church Board, the headmaster of the Vogler school, the teacher Wierzba, the owner of the Erbisch inn and the gardener Bias. From the documents relating to the establishment of the Nowa Wieś Królewska parish, it can be read that it had 4,000 Catholic inhabitants at that time and was four kilometers away from Opole. Thanks to the efforts of the commune, it was decided that the annual income of the parish priest will amount to 1,500 marks, not including the tax for the apartment, and a legal cash allowance in connection with the achieved age in interest of 32,000 marks On May 21, 1905, the consecration was carried out by Cardinal Kopp himself. 5,000 marks that he funded were allocated to the church clock, a beautiful stylish stone baptismal font, and some stone altars. While building the church, the Gothic style was kept. Outside, simple and economical in form. However, the richly equipped interior makes a great impression. The church resembles a basilica with two tarnseptos in the aisles, one central nave and two cross-shaped aisles. The side aisles are low, while the central nave is raised high, creating a rib-cross vault supported at the base on supports. The tower is erected above the central nave. It forms the main entrance hall. Above the narrow rectilinear small gable roof of the tower there is an octagonal pyramid 54 meters high. Above the large portal, the statue of St. Oswald, a named patron from the name of the builder, Fr. Oswald. The builder of the church organ was the Spiegel company. The glass works were carried out by the company Max Nierle from Wrocław. The entire construction amounted to 196,000 marks at the time.
