The history of the church and parish dates back to the second half of the 13th century. However, the temple and the whole town were destroyed during the Thirty Years' War. For over 100 years, the town had no church. Reconstruction took place only in 1752. A half-timbered tower with an octagonal wooden superstructure and a Baroque cupola comes from this period. From the mid-sixteenth century to the end of World War II, it was a Protestant church. The parish church restored to Catholics was dedicated on February 2, 1947 by Fr. Antoni Purola, a priest from Trzcinna, who until the end of 1948 served almost all churches that now belong to the Nowogródek Pomorski parish. The parish was established as an independent unit on April 8, 1948. The first priest was Father Kazimierz Dymitrowicz, diocesan priest. On September 3, 1951, pastoral work was entrusted to the Salesian Congregation. The first Salesian priest was Father Czesław Madej. At that time, the parish had 2,900 faithful from various parts of Poland, especially from the borderlands of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. At that time, the population was faithful to God, the Church and pastors. Often living in poverty, they renovated the war damage and equipped everything needed to celebrate the liturgy with parish and affiliate churches. Currently, the parish has almost 3,500 people and about 760 families. Parishioners live in 16 villages, and the Eucharist, other sacraments and services are celebrated in five churches and a fire station.

Parish church from the second half. 13th century Early Gothic, built of granite cubes. It was destroyed along with the entire town in the 17th century. Reconstruction took place in 1752, then a half-timbered tower with a baroque helmet was built over it. Historical building - Reg. No. 138 of July 31, 1956

You have to forgive me, but I will not comment, because I'm not a fan of this institution
