The best zoo I have ever been to. The enclosures were very spacious for the most part and as always a few animals were temporarily absent. Very easy to get to on the tram. It took a good chunk of the day to get around and it was a relaxing experience.
As a vet student, the condition of a zoo is very important to me in deciding if I am willing to support this particular organization or recommend it to other. When I visited the Wrocław Zoo, I was immediately impressed by the condition of not just the grounds but of the animals who inhabit them. All the animals I saw during my visit were in amazing shape and were exhibiting natural behaviours which is a sign that they were well cared for. The zoo also does a great job of educating guests about animal welfare and conservation. The zoo is also affiliated which many larger, well known zoos and animal conservation in the States so you can be sure that they are receiving the funding necessary to care for their animals. If you are on the fence about whether or not you should financially support this organization by visiting, I can assure you you will be impressed.
Zoo is a great place for going with your family and kids, there are lot of things to do, interact with and learn. They promote the European&national fauna trying to educate kids about importance of preservation of our environment. Also is afrikarium with big water tanks full of beautiful fish, sharks and turtles. I don't like the bear place , is visible that the bear is trying to go inside his jail all the time, I think they should use this for some project of endangered species preservation instead of a very sad bear. Also is great to go with the little ones to the area with horses, sheep's and farm animals so they can interact with them.
A great experience when in Wroclaw! The whole complex is very well organised and presenting a lot of diversity. A special word for the "Afrykarium": it treats you with a complete route across the African Continent (both maritime and forest / savanna life), it is a MUST when there. The staff and complementary services are also very good.
Oh wow this place is fantastic! They should charge more at the entrance to take better care of the animals (not that they aren't being taken care off). This place I recommend for children and adults.
