This is a stationary low pressure steam engine with one expansion, condensation. Steam under high pressure was supplied from the outside of the boiler through the timing system directly to the cylinder. The piston was actuated by a shutter mechanism, alternately inserting and discharging steam into the front and rear of the cylinder. The energy produced was transmitted to the crankshaft and flywheel by means of a crossbar connected to the connecting rod. The six-handed wheel consisted of two parts, transversely fixed and wedged, similar to the wheel hub. A wide ring is mounted on the crankshaft, on the side of the connecting rod, to accommodate a circular eccentric rim to move the timing slide. Centrifugal weight regulator (with spherical scales with a cast ball), designed to stabilize the operating cycle of the machine and the stroke of the piston placed in the cylinder, connected to the crankshaft by means of a single-stage external gear. On the opposite side of the speed control connections was a hoop for installing the belt drive. The lubrication system was supplied with three lubricants. The engine was used to drive a frame saw with a belt saw. pruning of logs of the big size of wood on timber. Technical data; power of about 40 hp Machine dimensions: max. Height 163.5 cm (height of the centrifugal regulator), length max. 358 cm (machine frame length), width (depth) max. 295 cm (to the hub), flywheel diameter 345 cm; estimated weight of approximately 6800 kg (6.8 tons).
The engine was driven by a frame saw transmission belt. Produced probably in 1890 at the Hermann Pauchsch Machine Building Works, Foundry and Steam Boilers Factory. Ownership of the Jan Dekert Lubuskie Museum in Gorzów Wlkp. Object acquired in 1982 as a transfer from the sawmill in Namyślin.
