The church in Świerklach was built in 1949, thanks to the efforts of the priest of the parish in Czarnowąsy, priest Henry Mainki. The new temple was consecrated on August 22, 1949 by priest Gossip girl from Siołkowice. Świerkle were then incorporated into the parish of St. Szczepan in Brynica, where they remained until the end of January 1957. In 1957 the church entered the boundaries of the Czarnowąsy parish, and they still belong to it. The church was consecrated again in November 1982 by bishop Antoni Adamiuk. On June 11, 1994, by the decree of the Opole bishop, a ministry was established in Świerkl. The administrator was Fr. Dr. Stanisław Bogaczewicz, who held this function until 1999. Since 1999, the administrator is Fr. Jan Chodura. In June 1970 there was a fire. The sacristy, roof and organs were burned then. The renovation took over two months. In 1974, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the church, two bells were founded - one dedicated to Saint. Józef, the second dedicated to St. John the Baptist. The sacristy was also enlarged and a terrace was opened in the back of the church, which served as a field altar and stage. In 1981, a general renovation of the church was carried out.
