When visiting the sanctuary, you can also approach the beautiful wooden church that is located on the neighboring street. The whole temple in Modrzewiowa is covered with shingles. The history of this church begins in the 12th century. The second one was erected in the 13th century and rebuilt into the present one in 1659, it still stands and is doing well. Unfortunately it was closed. Great photos are on foto polska.eu. But there is also a cool local legend that says that in this place stood a huge oak with a circumference of 15 meters. Unfortunately, the tree withered because pilgrims gnawed and plucked its bark thinking that it had a beneficial effect on aching. Today, there is no trace of this legendary monument. Although there is no oak anymore it is a church and you can always come here.

A beautiful wooden church I love such atmosphere ... I could literally live in this place, everything is wonderful. In such churches you can feel the real, living faith that was once the most important in human life, was the sense for which life was given .... And now? Marbles, gold, statues, glamor, cash, cash ...... only do not feel God in such a place ........
