A nice wooden church located on the Trail of wooden churches in the Gliwice region. I can recommend for a short trip, for example with the church in Zacharzowice and, for example, with the castle in Toszek. Family.

Wooden church of St. Michał Archanioła in Księżym Las is located in the center of the village, between Pyskowice and Tarnowskie Góry. It is a filial church in the Nativity parish. John the Baptist in Zbrosławice Kamieniec. This late-Gothic building was established in 1498 and is thus one of the oldest wooden churches in Silesia. In the eighteenth century, a side chapel was added to it, and in 1905 a brick porch. The church in Księży Lesie suffered greatly during World War II, but in 1955 it was rebuilt. The wooden church in Księży Lesie is built on a stone and brick foundation, and the walls and roof of the temple are covered with shingle. On the north side, the church is surrounded by Saturdays, often found in antique wooden churches. In the past, there was a belfry next to the church, but it has not survived until now. The church in Księży Lesie is located on the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesian Voivodeship.

The church is beautiful from the outside. Unfortunately closed and no information on who can open it. The roof above the main entrance and the door are too modern in such a historic temple. Perfect order at the parish cemetery. I wish only that in Central Poland there were also modest graves, not splendor and richness.

A very romantic place. A nice historic small church surrounded by a cemetery. Old tree stand nearby. Parking nearby.
