The castle was built in the fourteenth century and rebuilt in the sixteenth century. Famous personalities stayed at the castle, including King Sigismund II and Prussian King Frederick Wilhelm. In the nineteenth century, the castle was adapted for the needs of education - currently it houses the headquarters of the Agricultural School Complex.
