Nice

A forgotten building in the heart of Toruń's New Market. Some time ago, the distinguished creators of Cinema visited here in Camer Image meetings. Perhaps the main purpose of the building - the Protestant Assembly does not allow this historic place to be revived. It is a pity, it is an attractively situated building with convenient communication and parking. And this is what it looks like in the Christmas garment.

a very nice church. a new Evangelic temple in Toruń. Before that, there was a Gothic New Town Hall, transformed in 1668 into an Evangelical (Lutheran) church dedicated to the Holy Trinity. As a result of poor technical condition, it was begun in 1818 to demolish it. In 1824, the construction of the present, in the so-called arcade style (Rundbogenstil), with a classicist interior, according to a design provided by the Higher Construction Deputies, probably developed with a large participation of Karl Friedrich Schinkel. Until 1927, the building housed an Evangelical-Union church, from 1939 until then it served as the Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas. After the Second World War, magazines were installed in the building. In 1994, a renovation was carried out, in 1993-1999 the Camerimage International Festival of the Art of Cinematography took place there. Since the beginning of the 21st century, the building has been celebrating the annual Reformation Day, organized by evangelical Protestant Churches, associated in the Torun Protestant Alliance. In 1990, the building was entered into the register of monuments. In 2005, the tower of the former church was renovated, as well as the west façade, whereas in the beginning of 2006 the southern and northern façades were renovated. Part of the church's equipment (including the eighteenth-century painting Adoration of the Apocalypse Lamb) was moved to the Evangelical-Augsburg church of Saint. Stephen at Wołach gen. Sikorski. From there in the 1950s, the altar painting "Christ Risen", painted by Paul Händler in 1891, got into the Evangelical church of St. Of the Trinity in Warsaw, and the classic retabulum to Stara Iwiczna. The bells were moved to the cathedral in Pelplin, the pulpit to the church of St. Antoni on Wrzosy in Toruń. The organs were completely devastated.
