The present church was built in the years 1790 - 1801 thanks to the efforts of Cyprian Gronostajski, prior of the Dominicans. Between 1841 and 1853, renovation was carried out and two side altars were built. In 1867, the church was handed over to Uniates, in 1874 it was taken over as an Orthodox church. At that time, the chancel was expanded and a free-standing, brick belfry was built. During World War I, the temple was taken over by the German army as a field hospital, then a grain warehouse. In 1918, Catholics regained it. Currently, it remains closed, with the status of an access chapel of the Holy Trinity parish in Janów Podlaski.

There are plaques commemorating the soldiers of the Warsaw Battle of 1920, Home Army soldiers murdered in Katyn and the memory of 96 victims who died in the plane crash.
