The author of the design of the Skwierzyna town hall was probably Friedrich August Stüler from Berlin [1]. At the beginning of the 19th century it was one of the most famous and respected German architects. In 1888, the building was the seat of the Skwierzyna poviat, registry office, district court, police commissioner, customs office and royal forestry office. In 1945, during World War II, the Red Army entered the city. Fighting for the city caused the destruction of most public buildings and residential houses. The town hall survived because Soviet soldiers set up a warehouse there. Since 1975, the building houses the Town and Commune Office, and since 1990 the mayor of Skwierzyna has been in it. In 2006, the facade of the Skwierzyna town hall was thoroughly renovated. This undertaking received a distinction in the 11th Edition of the National Competition "Modernization of the Year 2006" in the "Facades and Thermorenovations" category. Inside, several antique furniture from the 1830s has been preserved, classicistic: a dresser, clock, desk and library. Every day at 12:00 the Skwierzyny bugle call composed by Wiesław Markowski is heard from the town hall tower.

A very nice building from the first half of the nineteenth century, standing out against the background of the city, nicely illuminated at night, the area around the town hall was recently renovated, an illuminated fountain was built on the square in front of the town hall. After refurbishment, the number of parking spaces has been significantly reduced, parking spaces are less and they are very narrow, a bigger car it is difficult to park, let alone get off or get off.
