Very efficient and friendly service. The lady at the reception was very obliging. The lady in the office too. I settled all matters in several minutes. The office also seems to be very well prepared for the dangers of the coronavirus. Falling control, disinfection, isolation. Everything works.

Żary, Market Square. I recommend 👍😎

Żary received city rights in 1260. The new city was founded on the basis of three independent settlements existing early on the river Żarka. The urban layout in the thirteenth century was based on the borough, in the north, the area with the parish church in the east and the so-called Kaczy Market in the west. The city center was marked out between the above mentioned centers. To this day, the medieval layout of squares and streets with buildings built during the time of the powerful owners of the cities of Dewinów, Bibersteinów and Promnitzów has survived to a large extent. In 1961, the entire establishment was entered in the register of monuments of the National Heritage Institute. Among the many existing monuments of the old architecture of the city on Żarka is the town hall located in the Market Square. The seat of the city authorities began to be built in the first half of the fourteenth century. In the last years of this century, the building was expanded by adding a multi-story wing from the south. Cloth hall was located on its ground floor, and town council meeting rooms on the first floor. A number of building houses adjoined the town hall from the north. In 1567, the construction houses were rebuilt, and arcades appeared along their new facade. The fire that hit the town hall in 1617 was an impulse for further modernization of the building. During the reconstruction, a west wing was created with the tower and the main entrance enclosed in a Renaissance portal. The town hall tower, originally wooden, was replaced in 1700 by a brick one. In the nineteenth century, a group of building houses was included in the structure of the town hall while eliminating the arcades. All modernizations have blurred the Renaissance appearance of the town hall. Today we can admire its remains in the form of an entrance portal. In 1929, the Renaissance detail was decorated with a mosaic with the city's coat of arms. The Żary Town Hall has been renovated in recent years and today is the main attraction of the revitalized Market Square and the city's business card.
