Beautiful wooden interior. Even better frescoes. It is a pity that they have recently partly covered them with new images of the Way of the Cross.

St. George's Church in Gliwice. Ostropie is one of the Monuments of Wooden Architecture. Brick-wooden erected in the fifteenth century. Rebuilt after a fire in 1667-1668. Inside the church, polychromes from 1667-1668 were repainted in 1884. The interior of the church is Baroque. The church was in use until 1927 until the construction of a new brick church. Holy Spirit. In 2017, the celebration of the 350th anniversary of the creation of the temple.

At the end of the 13th century, Kazimierz II, the Kozielsko-Bytom prince, located the village of Roztropa. A trade route from Gliwice to Koźle ran through the village (today, or in the immediate vicinity, the national road 408). The village was founded as the seat of the "guard" of both the road and the entrance to Gliwice. In the mid-fourteenth century, a wooden church was built in the village, burnt down by the Hussites. In the first half of the 17th century, residents built the current church, St. George but this "a moment later" was destroyed by the Swedes. The church at the turn of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries was rebuilt again, Baroque frescoes have been preserved, they constitute the unique place of many temples. At the beginning of the 19th century, the parish priest initiated the tradition of Easter horse procession.
