It was built in 1604–1608 from the foundation of Bishop Piotr Tylicki. Expanded in the 19th century. It is a late Renaissance building with classicist and styleless transformations. It consists of a three-span body with a pair of octagonal chapels. By the semi-circular closed Gothic presbytery from the north, there is an old sacristy from the 14th century with a collector's lodge on the first floor. The square tower, lowered due to lightning, is topped with a helmet from 1827. Temple equipment mainly late baroque from the eighteenth century (main altar) and neo-Renaissance. Marble epitaphs from the beginning of the 17th century [2]. The Renaissance portal is decorated with the coat of arms of the founder. A commemorative plaque was founded by the city's residents in 1910 to celebrate the six hundredth anniversary of the birth of Casimir III the Great. In 1997, illumination was installed on the church, which made it visible from afar at night. During the presidency of Piotr Głowacki, who took over the parish in Kowal in August 2003, the temple was thoroughly renovated by installing new plasters, a new roof covering and a church tower. The work around the temple was done thanks to the efforts of the priest and with the support of parishioners and in some municipal authorities.

A great place to focus and reconcile with God! The church is historic and beautiful. I go here every Sunday and sometimes also during the week. The atmosphere of this place is really amazing, of course thanks to the parish priest and vicars, who absolutely do not mix up with politics, and this is very important recently !!! I invite you to calm prayer.
