Nice church in the park, Good Saturday 7:00 am mass, stumbled upon it while jogging at the park

The church - the monument - stands on the edge of Kościuszko Park, from Mikołowska Street. Nice surroundings, ample parking. Modern building, spacious and bright interior. A little too little intimacy for me, but you can focus and pray. The decor modest. The stations of the Way of the Cross referring to the fallen miners from the mines attract attention Uncle on December 16, 1981 and a commemorative plaque founded by the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Wałęsa, on the fourteenth anniversary of the tragedy. The initiative to build a temple arose after 9 miners were killed in clashes with the police during the pacification of the mine during martial law. The church was consecrated on December 14, 1991. It replaced the barracks chapel that had stood here since 1982. On every anniversary of December events, masses are celebrated here. by higher clergy with the participation of church and state authorities. Then the celebrations move to the cross - the monument at the mine. President Lech Kaczyński delivered a speech there on the 25th anniversary. The mine is nearby. At the long end of the Park, from ul. Kościuszko, you can visit the wooden church of St. Michael from 1510. You can take the bus to the Brynów Wincentego Pola stop.

Since the parish priest is present, the parish has turned into a corporation in which we hear about envelope victims at every turn ... and what a woman with a pension should do and give 5 zlotys every Sunday she denies herself what she likes every week. The pastor behaves like a president, not a clergyman who is to serve people - everyone ...
