The church was built in 1635 on the hill of the Transfiguration by Fr. Wojciech Lipnicki from the fund of his relative Dorota Kącka, abbess of the Norbertine convent in Krakow in Zwierzyniec. At that time, the parish church was damaged by a fire. On October 10, 1638, it was consecrated by the suffragan of Kraków, Tomasz Oborski. In the years 1638-1730, the church of St. Dorothy served as a parish church, then the church had a separate chaplain reporting to the parish priest Grodziecki. Throughout the ages the Church has gone through various vicissitudes; wars destroyed it, during the Prussian times the tombs were devastated and the looted equipment, including organs, was taken away, and finally the church was turned into a stable. Later, the church began to fall into ruin. It was not until 1946 that the temple was rebuilt, which was consecrated by Fr. Bishop Teodor Kubina on August 10, 1947. In the 1980s, the church was annexed, and in 1985 paintings depicting scenes from the life of St. Dorothy. Currently, the church vaults are covered with reinforced concrete. The Church is open: on the solemnity of the patron saint of St. Dorothy on February 6 (3 pm mass) on the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord on August 6 (the indulgence is usually moved to Sunday) mass at 15:00, on the 6th day of each month (additionally, for example, 14.II, 11.XI).
