Admittedly, it catches the eye
He's wasting away, but maybe someone else can save him.
Worth a visit.
The palace was built in 1820 by Nepomuk Jan Nieżychowski of the Pomian coat of arms director of the Credit Land in Poznań.
Granówko was mentioned from 1423, it originally belonged to the Granowski family. The village was owned by, among others Jaskulskich coat of arms Leszczyc. In 1804, the Nieżychowscy bought them and owned them until 1939 with a break in 1903-1923, when the estate was managed by Rodryg Dunin, the second husband of Łucja née Taczanowski, widow of Stanisław Nieżychowski.
Rodryg Dunin of the Łabędź coat of arms, an agronomist and industrialist by profession, was a widely respected initiator of technical progress. In Granówek he conducted a successful experiment of artificial irrigation of fields, which was found by many followers. He also founded a distillery, which he later transformed into an alcohol rectification plant.
Classicist palace. The building was erected on a rectangular plan, in the long axis N-S, the west-facing facade, multi-storey, covered with a hip roof. Facade enclosed by two wide pilasters; in the middle a 4-column portico of great order crowned with entablature and a triangular pediment with an oculus.
In the garden facade, a terrace with a baluster railing, sheltered by an arcade porch, to which a two-speed staircase leads. The porch pillars support the terrace at the height of the 1st floor. Above the roof, a triangular bridgehead pretending to be a pediment.
In the years 1939–45 the village was called Grannenberg.
After the Second World War, the Polish State Treasury took over the property. On the basis of the farm, in 1953 a Production Cooperative was created, which later became part of the plant in Granów. The palace was intended for educational purposes, for many years it housed a kindergarten. In recent years, it has gone into private hands, however, is constantly falling.
