Piękny kościół, warto wstąpić choćby na chwilę wybierając się na zwiedzanie miasta.... Budowę kościoła NMP Wniebowziętej zapoczątkował w 1321 roku biskup kamieński Konrad za pośrednictwem braci Święców...

A very nice and well-kept church, which can be seen even in distant Darłówek. Interesting sarcophagi and stained glass windows inside. A monument from the fourteenth century worth visiting.

Fantastic, powerful building from the 14th century; it is worth taking a closer look at these walls that "saw" for several centuries.

It is the oldest Gothic monument in the city. On the basis of research conducted at the end of the 20th century, it can be stated with almost 100% certainty that the temples were built in the 13th century. The characteristic features of the church are the construction resembling a basilica with 3 naves, Gothic style, and rectangular construction. The church is accompanied by a 60-meter tower built into the space between the aisles on a square plan. Inside the building, the Mausoleum was destroyed. The body of Eric I of Pomerania, Elżbieta (wife of the last Pomeranian Duke) and Princess Jadwiga is buried in the sarcophagus. Inside the church there is a beautiful baroque pulpit, a stained glass window in the presbytery, and a Lapidarium with crosses, tombstones and figures was established at the temple. The picturesque town of Darłowo formally began to exist in 1312, when the town was founded under the Lübeck law, but historical records mention the town from the 13th century. So it is not surprising that tourists can find some monuments from the Middle Ages here. An additional advantage of the city is the fact that in 1382 Erik I of Pomerania was born here - the king who will lead the Kalmar Union (Norway, Denmark and Sweden) to return to Pomerania after dethroning. Over the centuries, Darłowo was unfortunately tormented by the elements. The chronicle mentions numerous fires of the city and the castle (1589, 1624, 1648, 1675 and 1723). In addition to the fires, floods were also severe. Darłowo has 700 years of history and 200 years of one of the oldest bathing resorts in Poland (Darłówko Wschodnie). Today, apart from the bathing beach, there is also a port and an aquapark with salty Baltic water. Currently, the city has approx. 14 thousand inhabitants. Darłówko and Darłowo are connected in the season by a line of water trams. So what is worth seeing in Darłowo? - St. Mary's Church (with a 60-meter tower, Pomeranian Mausoleum and a sarcophagus with the remains of King Eric I of Pomerania) - Kościuszko Square with the Fisherman's Monument and the historic Town Hall (Renaissance portal above the entrance door) - Powstańców Warszawskich Street. (450 m long with historic tenement houses) - St. George (former hospital church) - Stone Gate (also called High Gate) - Pomeranian Dukes' Castle (King Eryk Pomorski, known as the Last Viking of the Baltic, was born and ruled there). The only seaside gothic castle in Poland, built on a plan similar to a square with a 24-meter high tower. Currently, the Castle Museum.
