Very nice and old historic church. It looks historic from the facade. Old walls and in general ... but inside it is already completely renovated and the old age is no longer visible, somewhere on the wall exposed old paintings are worth restoring ... I recommend visiting and comparing the interiors of churches with old houses

The church Peter and St. Paweł in Chełmno is a former Dominican church. From 1829 to 1945 it was an evangelical church. The facade of this church was the prototype of the facade of the Warsaw cathedral. The existing church began to be built at the end of the 13th century, although there are earlier fragments of the late Romanesque building. The building retained its typical Gothic features on the outside but the interior was rebuilt in the Baroque style. After being taken over by Evangelicals, the former rich Baroque and Rococo furnishings were removed. The late Baroque main altar has survived. Renovation and conservation works have been underway since 2005, but it is possible to visit the interior, which has a very modest decor. The liturgy is held only once a year, on the feast of Peter and Paul on June 29. - The church of St. Piotr and St. Paweł in Chełmno is a former Dominican church. Unfortunately, there is nothing left of the monastery. However, the church itself is very eminent.

The church from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries is one of the oldest in the Chełmno Land. A basilica building with a rich stepped gable in the west facade beautifully closes Dominikańska Street. The three-nave church with the presbytery closed on three sides, belonged to the Dominican. This Gothic, brick temple in the second half of the seventeenth century was turned into a basilica by raising the walls of the nave. Inside the walls there are paintings dated to the 14th century, the scene of the Crucifixion. The original, very rich baroque and rococo interior design was from the 17th century. Only the Rococo main altar, stalls and pulpit have been preserved. The temple also has a Gothic tombstone of the first Bishop of Chełmno Heidenryk. Currently, two masses are celebrated in the church during the year: on the Days of the Cross and on June 29 on the feast of Saints Peter and Paul. Both masses start with a procession at 6.30. The church also serves cultural purposes, classical and religious music concerts are held here and exhibitions are organized.
