St. Franciszek Ksawery was part of the baroque post-Jesuit complex in Grudziądz. The Jesuit college is currently the seat of the Municipal Office (town hall). The entire complex was built in the 17th and 18th centuries, in the vicinity of the parish church. The Jesuits were brought to Grudziądz in 1622, but the privilege of purchasing land for the construction of the church and college was issued only in 1630 by King Sigismund III Vasa. Construction works began in 1647, but were interrupted during the Swedish Deluge (1655-1659) and the Jesuits were expelled from the city. The construction of the college was not completed until 1723 due to the ongoing wars. As a result of the Partition of Poland, the Prussian authorities liquidated the order in 1781. The Jesuits returned in 1935, and in October 1939 they were murdered during the German occupation. The church is a baroque, single-nave building with a narrower rectangular chancel, facing west. It was destroyed during the Second World War. The side elevations have three storeys of windows, reinforced with buttresses. It is a big tourist attraction that you should visit and sit back and reflect on life. - The Church of St. Franciszek Ksawery was part of baroque post-Jesuit complex in Grudziądz. The facility is superbly integrated into the axis of the street, the layout of the square and the frontage designated by the building of the city hall. Too bad it was closed.

Very atmospheric, full of reflection A great place to calm down and spend some time with God in prayer 👍

A beautiful church with a beautiful altar. A place of adoration of the sacred sacrament, where you can enter every moment and pray in the silence.
