Until World War I, the school church of Saints Cyril and Methodius operated in Starosielce. In 1919 it was taken over by the local Catholic community and adapted into a church. Gapanowicz, unsuccessfully tried to take over the church in Starosielce, but he had to give in to the reluctance of the faithful to change their religion. In 1935, the temple became a branch of the Saint. Nicholas in Bialystok [6]. The church was seriously damaged during World War II. The icon of Christ is stored in the temple, which was hit by a bullet fragment and a destroyed (pierced) bell. Aleksander Kundin-Kirykowicz, pastor of the Old Jews parish, asked the authorities for permission to rebuild the temple, but it was refused. In 1961, it was only provisionally renovated. It wasn't until 1972 that Fr. Michał Chomczyk obtained permission to expand the church. In fact, work was begun on erecting a completely new, stone church. On August 27, 1972, the cornerstone for its construction was consecrated by the Bishop of Białystok and Gdańsk Nikanor. The same hierarch ordained the ready temple on May 25, 1979. The reconstruction was carried out according to the design of Michał Bałasz, which assumed leaving only the eastern wall from the original building with the mosaic icon of the Mother of God, modeled on the fresco of Wiktor Wasnieców from the Cathedral of St. Vladimir in Kiev.
