Well ... writing a review where none has been written is not always easy. Especially if you did not even come into the building in this case. The house is only open on Wednesdays afternoon. Or you are on the phone and trying to get a separate appointment. I tried this a week before arriving in Goldap. But one after anonther. You have 3 telephone numbers to which you turn when you the house d. Would like to visit home. The one number in Goldap was just an AB spitting out two other phone numbers in Germany. A law office in NRW and a private number in Stade in Lower Saxony. At the first attempt, the law firm also had an AB on it. Call in Stade? Nobody picked it up. Next try 2 days before departure to Poland. In the office lifted a very nice lady from me then referred to the phone number in Stade on. Again no connection. On the day of departure then again the attempt in Goldap. Again only AB. Since I had a good 1,200 km to Goldap I assumed that until then I get someone to the line. Meanwhile Thursday was, and so about 100 km before Goldap I tried my luck again with the phone. This time only in Stade. No success. Then again the law office in NRW. The nice lady said she could not help me there. I should ... "" Yes, I said exactly, I tried this again without success several times .. About 1.5 hours later ... we were now in Goldap called me the good woman from Stade Law firm had reached the lady in Stade now and described my problem And now the thing is something .... I'll say ... sad .. After my remarks on a separate visit that I would have liked, I got now hear that she finds it incomprehensible that there are still people who just drive away and wonder that it is too .. After all, you would have Thursday and only on Wednesday you can go into the house. That was known to me. I think you could get an extra appointment ........ Answer: "You can not do anything from Germany, and there is a janitor on the ground whose cellphone number she does not have and who speaks only Polish. In addition, all this is only volunteer and there is not always one on site. But they try to do something for me through the law firm. I should stay until tomorrow and then you can see. I stayed until Friday afternoon. Then I got the message on my mailbox that she had no success. So after a visit to the city and at least the street where my grandparents and my mother lived, in the war years of inexperienced things I drove home again. Finally: first a big thank you to the employee in the office that had been so concerned about me. Ehrenamt ... honor her! There is certainly not a little work in it in such a project.
