On July 9, 1942, there was a mass demonstration of hanging fifteen men unknown to residents, brought by Germans, among whom were 10 prisoners of Fort VII. About 200 inhabitants of Tuchorze were compelled to show to the people of Polish nationality that any resistance to the actions of the occupation authorities would be treated in a similar way. There are discrepancies as to the reasons for this. The execution could take place in retaliation for the shooting of a gendarme by undetermined perpetrators, perhaps deserters from the German army source: Wikipedia
