In Hudd there was a Uniate parish from 1666, funded by Michał Kazimierz Radziwiłł. At that time, the Orthodox church in the village had a call to the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1875, as a result of the liquidation of the Uniate diocese of Chełm, the pastoral institution was incorporated into the Russian Orthodox Church. The church of Hrudzka remained an Orthodox temple until 1919, when it was recovered for the benefit of the Roman Catholic Church. The building was rebuilt to accommodate the liturgy in the Latin rite.
