The synagogue was built in the years 1840-1855. It stood in the place of the previous one from the beginning of the 19th century. On September 1, 1939, the German bombing completely destroyed the center of Wieluń along with the synagogue, which was never rebuilt. The plaque was unveiled on August 31, 2009. It commemorates the inhabitants of Wieluń of Jewish nationality murdered during the Second World War.
