I wanted to present my own perspective of a trip to the castle in Gniew 😉 Undoubtedly, the castle itself is worth visiting and walking around, but it is also worth going to the old town, which is two steps away. It has its own atmosphere which reminds me of the one from Prague or Mikulov. Cobbled streets with colorful facades of tenement houses create an atmosphere. Interestingly, the old town is not typically tourist-oriented. There is no restaurant or even an ice cream parlor. It is a phenomenon. I recommend Gniew for a weekend getaway. If we want even more attractions, Pelplin is 15 minutes from Gniew, which is also worth visiting 😁

A beautiful, rebuilt castle and a beautiful old town of Gniew with a lot of interesting streets. The castle itself has lost a bit due to commerce, but the views of the Vistula and the surrounding area from the castle hill are beautiful. It is worth spending a few hours visiting the castle and the beautiful town.

A magnificent Teutonic castle from the 13th century. Hotel, restaurant, paid parking on site. You can walk to the Old Town. You can play a city game that guides you around the city and its surroundings. It is possible to watch knight tournaments at the foot of the castle.

Every year I come to the festival in the castle (fifth year in a row). Atmospheric, exciting and generally beautiful! I recommend for people who are fond of the Middle Ages.
