Chapel was closed. No reason was given. Woman at the counter rudely pointed at a list of opening hours, uttered the words "CHAPEL CLOSE", which I didn't understand, since I was well within the opening hours (I visited at around 1PM on a Tuesday). No English was spoken. Other people seemed to receive tickets just fine. Disappointment.

Hard to tell much about the castle (I would rather call it palace) because it was closed for renovations at the time I was there (September 2019). It is impressive just from the outside. What was open was the chapel and the tower. Both worth visiting. The chapel, rather small, had some old paintings around. And the tower had lots of texts and pictures, on every level, that described mainly how the buildings were used in the past (it used to be a political prison). There is a large parking lot in the front of the castle (paid). There are restaurants and plenty of other things to see; the castle is at the edge of an old part of the city of Lublin.
