On April 28, 1996, Archbishop Sawa laid the foundation stone for the church of St. Martyr Gabriel in the village of Zwierki near Zabłudów, and on October 10, 1999, the new ordinary of the diocese, Bishop Jakub consecrated the cross on the church's crowned dome. The first liturgy in the church was celebrated in 2003.

There once was a dynamic monastery in Krasnyystok, dealing with the education of orphan children, running a hospital, a parish school, but unfortunately it was liquidated during World War I. The sisters fled to the vicinity of Moscow, and their buildings were given to the Roman Catholic church. After returning home, they had nowhere to go and until 1993 wandered around various cities. Ultimately, however, they found a place in Zwierki. Two novices founded the monastery, but were still in the church of St. Nicholas in Bialystok and there they looked after the relics of St. Of Gabriel. He was a six-year-old boy kidnapped from his parents' home and terribly murdered. Jews were suspected of ritual murder. When it was additionally found that his body was preserved undamaged, he was proclaimed a saint. His relics are in Bialystok. The Monastery of the Nativity of the Mother of God was therefore moved to the place of birth of Saint. Gabriel. Built since 1996, the church is ready, finishing works are underway. The beautiful polychrome covering the walls was made by artists from Moscow, and recently the icon of the Mother of God Pantanassa (Wsiecaryca) was brought from the Watopedzki Monastery on Atos.
