A beautiful monument of religious architecture built in the first half of the fourteenth century. The church was built within the medieval city defensive walls of the German city of Rosenberg (today's Drought) while strengthening the defense of the castle. The first mentions date from 1314. Presumably, the building in its present shape was built between 1340 and 1350. Rebuilt several times in the 17th century. In 1879, during the reconstruction of the roof, two gables were preserved: the Gothic one over the eastern wall of the presbytery and the Gothic Renaissance ornamented with rows of flat blends - from the facade. From the time of the Reformation to 1945, it was a temple of the Evangelical community, later it was taken over by the influx of Catholic people. The oldest monuments of the church include: 14th century fresco depicting Saint Veronica with a scarf and kneeling founder of the temple, a Gothic baptismal font from the 15th century, main altar from 1607, pulpit from 1604, bench from 1651, From a later period comes a valuable gallery decorated with paintings and organs from the late nineteenth century, nineteenth century tombstone and banner of Wilhelm Albracht Schack von Wittenau. There is also a collector's canopy lodge once belonging to the Finckenstein family, decorated with scenes from the Bible. I recommend seeing this beautiful church to anyone who values religious architecture.
