The first church in Nawiady was built in the 15th century. In the years 1600-1603 it was renovated. Around 1670, a Renaissance sacristy was added, and in 1687 the tower was increased by a wooden superstructure. The whole was restored in 1933-1934. From the time of the Reformation, the church was in the possession of the evangelical community. This was also the case for a long time after the end of World War II. However, the number of the faithful was gradually decreasing and in 1981 it was taken over by Catholics (first the church was rented and in 1994 it was bought back). An independent parish was established here in 1989.
