Got there in my truck, and was hard to turn around but the family that live there are very helpful. We stay and enjoyed amazing views and there delicious food. They are really a great bunch. This is off grid living that one only dreams of, waterfalls and mountains view, goats and chickens. Go and be part of the garden. I would suggest getting incontact with Dan and Biana before going, they would be more then happy to help.

A beautiful and peaceful place for everyone who loves being close to nature. The camping is right next to the river surrounded by massive granite boulders which create a unique atmosphere. We ended up staying for quite some time until the beginning of winter. The outdoor shower has cold water only, but there is a bathtub with a panoramic view that you can heat up by making a fire under it – an experience I can really recommend! Don't mistake this for a setup and running permaculture project, the garden is more of an experiment in progress. Still, during our time there we learned a lot about goats, chicken and planting. You wont need a 4x4 to get there, just take it slow and drive with care :)

A beautiful place in the countryside of Portugal! If anyone is looking for a place off grid where they can disconet from everything and just focus on the essential, Garden X is the place. Right by the margin of the Ocreza river, the place is deep into nature (you'll need a car to go to Castelo Branco, the closest city) and the landscape is breathtaking. There is a beatiful family managing the project, that is focused on a very relaxed and natural approach to farming. No permaculture. In our stay we had the chance to learn about olive picking and pickling process, cooking and cheese making. It is still, and i guess it will always be, a work in progress. There is no phone reception, but they have wifi. The access road is tough, but you don't need a 4x4, just drive slow and safe. It is worth it to pay them a visit!

Lovely little place by the river worth visiting. you can come and pot a tent up or join the garden as a active neighbor. Youl find goats kafir yougort, fermented drinks and great people. Some say the chief makes the best pizza in the area
