Popular Art Museum

Visited this museum to see the Escher exhibition. The Exhibition was cool but not my favourite.

MNAC: Covers the development of Portuguese art from the mid-19th century to the present day. Among the museum’s more recent acquisitions are the distinctly Portuguese yet Pop art-inspired paintings of Sá Nogueira, pieces by Lisbon-based sculptor José Pedro Croft and the experimental video work of Alexandre Estrela. It has also displayed temporary exhibitions by leading Portuguese artists, including Vasco Araújo’s Botânica, a compelling reflection on Portugal’s colonial legacy.

We loved. Much better then we expected. It is a FREE museum that tell about each region in Portugal. They show the culture, behavior. I was very surprised how huge and complete the place was. I would definitely come back and recommend to everybody.

Escher exhibition. Second part of exhibition is better, so don't spend all your time at the beginning. For Escher lovers - there is lots to see and enjoy.

Saw the Escher exhibition here, a spot of luck considering we were in a foreign city. It's an absolute must see. Staff are very friendly and helpful too. Space and light used exceptionally well.
