Casa Cantiga

We loved our stay at Casa Cantiga. The house is fully equipped. The terrace is large and facing the garden. Our children loved feeding the animals (hans, guinea pigs and goats). Maurice and Sandra are excellent hosts, very kind and flexible. It was great to escape the city in the middle of this pandemic and enjoy beeing close to nature for a few days!

We are a portuguese family and we went searching for a quiet place to spend quality time with our two kids. We rented a Ford van transformed into a house. We were very excited for a two days escape from Lisbon just an hour away, but when we got there it was far better than we expected. The Dutch couple that did our check-in were amazingly friendly, the van was very nice and the surroundings and the extras were much much more than we could expect. The swimming pool was heated by solar panels, everything was clean and nicely decorated, there was a huge warehouse full of activities for the kids (table tennis, matraquilhos, badminton, volley, basketball, football, a huge boat for the toddlers, bikes - a world of fun), little goats to feed, a turtle, Guinea pigs, well a lot to do. And the quietness of the place, used only by a few people that fit there, no cars, no ambulances,no planes, just the noise of silence and nature. I could go on, but I shall leave a little so you can also be surprised. We will be back for sure. Nothing bad to say...

What a fantastic place and what great people at Casa Cantiga. Lots of tips, lots of possibilities, even in this strange time. Lots to see and do in good weather and plenty of alternatives in bad weather. Fresh fish at the market and cooking yourself on the BBQ is all possible! Casa Cantiga thank you for the beautiful place you have made! And for the coffee! 😄

Casa Cantiga- The place to stay if you want to make the most of your holiday with kids. We with kids of 4 and 5 years old stayed in the spacious house: Palmeira. It was perfect. While we bbq outside, we watched the kids who jumped on the trampoline in front of the house and climbed the tree house to have a picnic with their cuddly toys. Our son Noéh was very fond of sweet Melly (dog). Every day he could spoil Melly with tasty dog ​​biscuits. Owner Maurice allowed them to pick their own mandarin and pear, they thought this was fantastic. Sandra who gave us great tips for outings every day. The pizza evening with other guests was also very pleasant. From Casa Cantiga we went to the beautiful village of Alcobaça. If you go here you can try Alcoa's yummy Portuguese pastries with a cappuccino. Do you want to shop nice clothes for the kids? Then you are at Match & Co. at the right place. Here are fun unique items for my daughter. At LaLaLa I bought nice dresses and plates for myself for nice prices. We also went to the Dino park in Lourinha (highly recommended if the kids love dinosaurs). Beautiful big dinosaurs outside in the forest and at the end they can dig dinosaurs. Eating out was not necessary, because we had such a nice terrace and preferred to sit at home at leisure. We BBQed a lot of fish and papa meat ourselves and enjoyed the food at our leisure. Supermarkets are an 8 minute drive away. You also have plenty of beaches. We liked the beach Praia da Paredes da Vitoria, here the kids - without stressing as a parent because of the dangerous sea - could play and play in a small bay by the sea. The boat trip to Berlenga was also great, we even saw dolphins. Keep in mind that it is a tough course with many steps if you want to explore the island. Every evening we closed with a story by Pluk van de Petteflet or a fairy tale from one of the nice books that were in their room. We definitely recommend this stay. We will never forget this beautiful experience!
