Cadaval Palace

BEAUTIFUL CHURCH/CHAPEL, THE HOUSE/PALACE HAS A NICE COURTYARD AND SOME LOVELY ROOMS. WORTH A LOOK AROUND.

The church is pretty, the palace itself is just an old house with a repository of old stuff. The walls and ceiling could use a much needed lift and humidity is taking its toll.

One of the best in Portugal. Style, quality .

The church is lovely, worth about 2-3€ to visit. The palace is an embarrassment, absolutely no historical, artistic or architectural information provided in any language. Forcing people to pay for both together is inappropriate and manipulative, particularly since this money apparently (as far as we could tell) goes to the Duke, rather than to a charitable or public organization. By far our most frustrating experience in charming Evora.

Now it serves as simple museum and doesn't show how the palace it self was once was
