This is an example of why campers prefer wild camping instead of campsites in Portugal (as opposed to France or Spain). Absolutely unattractive for young solo travellers as there are no vibes, no offerings and only older people or families - you won't get in touch with anyone you can spend time with! Pretty far from the surfspot and no bikes with surf racks being offered. Showers ain't working properly. Way too expensive for what you get. Staff is nice and helpful, one more star for that.

This campsite should actually be closed due to poor hygiene during Corona times, because: - Unfortunately the sanitary facilities and wash houses were cleaned far too rarely (1 - 2 times a day and they never cleaned it totally) - the buckets for the toilet paper are much too small and have a lid. Since they are emptied no more than once a day, they constantly overflow, so that often at some point the cloak is simply put on top. Also: - the old wash house upstairs is in urgent need of renovation - the shower stalls are way too narrow - the new wash house downstairs is very good - The disabled toilets and showers in the new wash house are locked. Getting a key is very difficult and takes a long time. - The staff at the reception is basically friendly, but if you criticize it, the tone quickly becomes unfriendly. It's a shame that such a beautiful campsite is so poorly managed. Dieser Campingplatz müsste eigentlich wegen mangelnder Hygiene zu Coronazeiten geschlossen werden, weil: - leider wurden die sanitären Anlagen und Waschhäuser viel zu selten - geputzt (1 - 2 mal täglich und nie wurde alles sauber gemacht) - die Eimer für das Toilettenpapier sind viel zu klein und haben einen Deckel. Da sie maximal einmal täglich geleert werden, laufen sie ständig über, sodass oft irgendwann das Clopapier einfach oben drauf gelegt wird. Außerdem: - das alte Waschhaus oben ist dringend renovierungsbedürftig - die Duschkabinen sind viel zu eng - das neue Waschhaus unten ist sehr gut - die im neuen Waschhaus befindlichen Behindertentoiletten und -Duschen sind abgeschlossen. Einen Schlüssel erhält man nur sehr schwer und mit langer Wartezeit. - das Personal an der Rezeption ist prinzipiell freundlich, aber wenn man mal Kritik übt, wird der Ton schnell unfreundlich. Schade, dass ein so schöner Campingplatz so schlecht geführt wird.

Full of the deadly Pine Processionary Caterpillar nests in the trees. Humans can get severe reaction, your dog need to see a Veterinary within 30-60 min or it dies and treatment is long and expensive if it survive. I asked the people that stayed there long time why they didn't move it, they told the owner many times and he did not care. I asked owner he said its a 'big job' and nests are high in the trees.... Great attitude!

The place is alright, staff was very friendly and helpful. Portuguese, English and German are spoken. The pricing is average, I guess there are better equipped sites for the same rate. If you bring a tent you have to pick your place carefully in order to get your pegs into the ground, because the ground is on a rocky slope filled up with sand between a couple of large trees. Apart from the howling wind very quiet in the nighttime. Sanitary installations were clean and up to date. Small, but fully equipped supermarket. Restaurant was lacking in options - but maybe only due to COVID-19.

Friendly and helpful crew, nice campingplace, spacious and clean and good toilet and shower places. They have restaurant and shop as well, but I didn't visit those. Not very cheap but worth the money.
