With the Lisbon card the entrance fee is a mere € 1,=. That, however, is still at least € 1,= too much. The only reason to visit the museum is to get a glimpse of the church next door through a glass door, if the church is closed. Unfortunately you’re not allowed within 5 meters of the only possible reason to visit this museum. With so much to see in Lisboa, spend your time wisely... elsewhere.

Fine collection for 2,5 EUR. Though not the biggest museum fan.

Well worth a visit to see the museum with its religious artifacts and Jesuit (Society of Jesus) connection. Then to see the oppulent São Roque church with its stunning sacristy recalling the life of the Navarrese missionary San Francisco Javier, co-founder of the Jesuits along with Ignatius of Loyola. San Francisco died in China in 1552 and is buried in Goa the former Portuguese Colony in India. Beyond there was an exhibition about the Portuguese in China. Very interesting place to visit for an understanding of Portuguese history. The museum includes a small restaurant with a lovely courtyard attached that has bamboo growing to remind us of the Sino- Portuguese connection. Next door is the Santa Casa de la Misericordia de Lisboa founded by Queen Leonor of Portugal in 1498. It is a Catholic lay brotherhood that is connected to the church. It is an international institution.
